COVID-19 UPDATE 3.18.20 // Pastor Aaron Nichols

Mosaic City Church -

As things around us have rapidly changed over the last week, we wanted to update you on our plans moving forward.

As you know, our church’s aim is to make disciples of all people through Gospel-centered worship, community and mission. And even in the midst of uncertainty we plan to move forward in what God has called our church to do. There are several ways that we will continue to be the church while also honoring the instructions of our government (Rom. 13:1) and fighting against the widespread covid-19 virus:

WORSHIP

We don’t attend church, we are the church. The church is not an event, it is a people. And we value the gathering of God’s people on a regular basis.

So, although we will not be able to gather on Sundays in a physical location, we will gather together in a virtual location every Sunday at 10:30am. (Praise God that we have technology that allows us to do that!)

The link for our online gatherings will be posted on mosaiccitychurch.com/online

COMMUNITY

This is also a time for us to carry one anothers’ burdens (Gal. 6:1) by spending time with one another, rehearsing the Gospel to one another, praying for one another and helping one another in practical ways.

Some of you are fearful, worried, or anxious during this season and we want to encourage you to fight the temptation to completely isolate yourself. There are ways to stay connected with others while practicing social distancing.

Others of you may not be fearful, worried or anxious during this season and this is an opportunity for you to minister to a fellow brother or sister in Christ who is.

Community Groups are great environments to facilitate these relationships. Groups will not be meeting physically, but will continue to meet regularly in online environments.

If you are not yet in a community group and would like to check one out, email office@mosaiccitychurch.com and we’d love to help you get connected.

MISSION

We also wanted to encourage you to consider how you might declare and demonstrate the Gospel in creative ways during this season.

Here are a couple of easy ways:

  • “By Name” – Continue to B.L.E.S.S. (Begin with prayer, Listen, Eat with, Serve and Share your story with) those on your “By Name” cards. This season may mean you need to be more creative with how you interact, but pray for opportunities. Reach out and ask how they’re doing and how covid-19 might be affecting their family, job, etc. Last week a member of our church invited the person she has been praying for to join our online service. This person has never been to church, but decided to login to join us for our virtual service and heard the Gospel.

  • Serving Others In Need – We are working on a system to connect those who desire to help others with those who are in need of assistance. We will post on mosaiccitychurch.com/online once we’ve worked that out. In the meantime, email office@mosaiccitychurch.com if you or someone that you know is in need of assistance.

  • Invest in those in your home - We are planning to post free resources online for you to use with your family, your spouse, your roommates during this season. God, in His grace, has given us an opportunity to draw near to Him during this time as activities, television shows, sports, etc. have been suspended. We want to encourage you to redeem the extra time you have with those you’re living with by spending time in God’s Word and praying together.

I’m praying for you all during this season. Please let me or your community group leaders know if there is anything that we can do for you.
